“Flo Jo” is made out ot laces, shoes, and track spikes Florence Joyner Griffith is one of the most treasured athletes in history. Aside from setting records in the 100m (at 10.49 sec.) and 200m (at 21.34 sec.), Flo Jo has also been a fashion icon. She designed all of her track clothes and went on to design some of the uniforms for the Indiana Pacers. The false accusations of PEDs as the initial reaction to her records are a prime example of how Black excellence is commonly rejected. She is the epitome of what it means to be more than an athlete
